  • Run through shinylive examples to look for problems (built from py-shiny@main)
  • Create rc-vX.Y.Z branch
  • Ensure pyproject.toml does not depend on git versions of other packages
  • Update version and polish changelog
  • Push and create a PR
  • CI passes or resolve CI issues
  • Tag commit and push tag
  • Create a GitHub release
    • Copy and paste new content from changelog to GitHub release notes
    • Check release as "latest" release
  • Confirm release published on PyPI
    • If it fails, delete tag and release, fix problems and re-do release process
  • Merge rc branch into main with git merge --no-ff. (Manual to retain tagged release commit in git history.)
